A discussion initiated by @coder101 on the #advice channel on Slack indicated that there may be some interest in sharing productivity and coding tips/tricks. One example was the shortcut for capturing a screenshot direct to the clipboard on Mac OS X.
“It’d be interesting to watch what tricks people like to use in their day-to-day. Also, I think it doesn’t even need to be a hangout… could be a discussion thread.”
To turn this into a hangout, we could consider a couple of approaches:
- Individuals share their collection of tips on a single hangout
- Hangouts are given a theme and a group of individuals could take it in turns to present a tip
The difficulty with identifying tips/tricks is that we often don’t know we’ve adopted them until someone stops us and asks how we do that.
